The President's Message
Furthermore the time has now become more and more of us to occupy leading positions and play leading roles in the HVAC&R Industry and development when the country is rapidly recovering from over 30 years of dark era and developing towards the goal of “ Wonder of Asia.”
I have a greater confidence in our collective ability to advance the mission of ASHRAE to support our members, and to work alongside all of you as we contribute to Engineering and
Society.
Let us join hands and continue our journey !

Let us look back and look ahead. Time is flying and we have grown up. As we move in to 2012 it will be a special year for ASHRAE Sri Lankan Chapter to celebrate its 10th Anniversary. In addition our Chapter is honored to be the host to Chapter Regional Conference (CRC) of Region at Large (RAL) in Sri Lanka in the year 2012.

Our Sri Lankan Chapter will be celebrating the 10th Anniversary on 5th February 2012 since it was chartered on the same day in the year 2002. We have been quite successful in our objectives to date and we are in the process of expanding the same beyond our expectations.
Our Society now has two Student Chapters, Moratuwa University & HNDE which were chartered by the ASHRAE USA President Late Ms. Lyn G. Bellenger’s visit to Sri Lanka on 27th February this year. This has given the local chapter a tremendous uplift and also an increase in general membership to a satisfactory level.
The venue for the ASHRAE Chapter Regional Conference (CRC) 2012 to be held next year has been selected as Colombo, Sri Lanka by the majority of the membership countries held in Cairo-Egypt last October. This is a great achievement to our Sri Lankan Chapter and the country itself and we look forward to your support in making it a great success.
I have every hope that Sri Lankan Chapter would acquire nation-wide fame with these new developments that will take place in the year 2012 and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
